Challenge

Going Global, the British Council’s flagship education conference, was coming to Nigeria for the first time.
The task was to host a globally respected platform while ensuring strong local relevance for a conference that felt international in stature, yet unmistakably African in voice, story, and symbolism.

Method

Working in collaboration with CMC Connect, and Livespot 360, we led the creative branding and design direction for the conference.
We developed the visual identity, conference materials, and social content system; shaping a cohesive experience across physical and digital touchpoints.
Every element was designed to support a multi-day programme focused on learning, connection, collaboration, and showcasing innovation in tertiary education.

Metaphors

We positioned the conference as a meeting point between global ideas and local realities.
A Nigerian visual motif of the Zuma Rock anchored the identity, expressing ownership, confidence, and cultural pride; signalling that Africa was not just hosting the conversation, but shaping it.
The work balanced academic credibility with warmth, colour, and energy, bringing the dialogue to life. 

Impact

Going Global Africa 2024 launched with a strong, memorable identity that elevated the conference experience.
The creative system helped frame meaningful dialogue around sustainable tertiary education, fostered collaboration across regions, and marked Nigeria’s debut as a confident host on a global education stage.
