Spirit of Method: Oreva Onimisi
About a year ago, we had to reboot at Method & Metaphors.
It was tough. But it was also a gift because it forced us back to first principles. The creative thinking. The culture. The fluency that shapes our work and our business model.
As M&M grew, so did the weight of it. Pitches won single-handedly and Key Accounts shaped from scratch by our Purpose Architect who ran everything from business to creative execution.
But to grow further, we needed a steady hand on Copy and Concept; a mercurial talent who could carry the day-to-day creative excellence in serving our Partners, lead the team, and hold the flag in our purpose-driven fight against ordinary.
If we needed another just writer, we could hire a Senior Writer at best. But a Function Lead carries serious destiny dynamics on the future of an agency.
It is a different conversation entirely.
“We call her senior man. She works that hard.”
— Oyin Olúdìpè, on Oreva Onimisi
The talent pool for senior creative leaders in this sector is small. The density of recommendation-worthy people runs thin.
A wrong hire at this level doesn’t just slow you down, it reshapes the trajectory of the business.
The Spirit of Method made manifest.
A few months in, we can say proudly: Oreva has given us colour at Method & Metaphors.
Oreva doesn’t just execute with taste, she has adopted the Spirit of Method, and wears the flag of a Futurecaster true and through.
Some weeks ago, a bottle of wine was promised to Oyin; chilled, hand-delivered, at any date of his choosing. Because the power of a great recommendation, like the power of great talent, compounds.
It would be remiss of us not to recognise her extraordinary efforts: not just in the wake of a campaign launch or pitch win, but at the quiet berth where the real work happens, while we are cooking like our lives depend on it.
Oreva is not just a bundle of talents.
She is the Spirit of Method, made manifest.
